Reminder Clock
With Valentines day quickly approaching we thought you all might appreciate a system that can remind you of things. This is another wonderful piece of work from DSK001.
Simply set the countdown using the dipswitch on the back. From left to right you have 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days. After choosing which length of time, turn on your clock and it will start counting down. When the timer runs out the bell will light up! Press the bell to turn off the timer.
Your reminder clock is easy to assemble. Please study the wiring diagram(step 3) and ensure your ESP32 is programmed correctly before proceeding. If you don’t know how to program your ESP32, see the instructions at the very bottom.
You will want to pre-solder wires to your button, but not to the ESP, for installation in step 5.
Parts included:
- 1x Dip switch
- 1x momentary switch
- 1x ESP32
- 1x wire bundle
- 1x LED

Step 1
Insert the alignment tool into the interior of the main case

Step 2
Mount the face of the clock on the front of the main case using the alignment tool to ensure the proper location.

Step 3
Wire everything EXCEPT the LED to the ESP32 using the diagram above

Step 4
Solder wires to your button. The legs of the button (and the wires) go through the holes in the print. You can then attach them to the ESP 32.
Quick tip: Connect your leads to diagonally opposite legs to ensure you get a functioning button every time.

Step 5
Mount the Esp 32 in place. You may wish to attach the wires from the momentary switch before mounting the ESP.

Step 6
Insert the clock mechanism. The dial hands go through the alignment tool.

Step 7
Insert the feet and bells. The bells should function as buttons.

Step 8
Mount the dip switch to the interior of the rear plate.

Step 9
Mount the rear plate onto the clock. Affix with 2 m3 screws

Step 10
Install the hour hand on the post of the clock, ensuring that it is pressed firmly into place on the wider section.

Step 11
Install the minute hand on the smaller, more extended post.
Challenge:
The model includes spots for a 2nd set of LED, Button, and Dip Switch. If you wished to take this further, you would need to figure out the programming to allow for simultaneous countdowns, and add the additional parts. Let us know if you do it!
